A intenção era resolver o projeto de tal forma a permitir que a Biblioteca se torne um espaço de reunião aberto ao bairro. Nossa primeira ideia era criar / desenhar um ponto de encontro ativo para as pessoas que atravessam a trama redescobrindo uma troca de "lugar" do conhecimento e da comunhão, mesmo aqueles que não pretendem entrar na biblioteca.
O volume proposto tenta liberar o centro da quadricula de implantação, como um grande espaço ao ar livre, que chamaremos de "jardim".
A localização do edifício, em torno das ruas do limite, lê o tecido urbano. O edifício relaciona-se com o existente, ao mesmo tempo resolve a localização da parcela (relação escola / biblioteca) e também articulado o centro como um espaço de descanso e ponto de contato com a pátio exterior da escola.
O local se transformou num espaço verde, que serve de como um lugar de reunião publico ou privado, espaço comunitário, passeios, ponto encontro dos residentes a volta, trabalhando como estúdio ao ar livre e permite o acesso ao interior da biblioteca.
A proposta é apresentada como um modulo compacto cubico com uma regra 6x6m invisível, onde a localização e a sequência dos pátios interiores é estratégico, e por sua vez sua forma é difundida por um centro orgânico / jardim exterior. O centro orgânico que está posicionada no lado norte da quadricula de implantação , onde o edifício estabelece uma relação com o exterior através de um envidraçado continuo , por sua vez se abri para o jardim e a zona de estar da biblioteca .
O método modulado é representado por peças e elementos simples, definidos por sistemas construtivos como pátios, nave, claraboia, vigas e tetos na gaveta que admitem o reconhecimento de elementos de forte caráter de ambiente e conforto, bem como os pátios internos também configuram alguns elementos essenciais no controle da luz e da ventilação natural, que proporciona uma organização clara e uma luz mais estável, adequada para leitura e trabalho.
Propôs-se para o espaço interior da biblioteca a criação de um espaço de livre acesso, um espaço aberto, sem compartimentos rígidos e com outras disponibilidades de distribuição espacial como sua inter-relação com o próprio mobiliário, tornando-se um ponto de encontro e sala de leitura .
No piso térreo encontram-se áreas públicas comuns, áreas polivalentes, com ligação direta ao jardim e áreas culturais e cívicas. Na rua oposta, as áreas de instalações técnicas e estacionamento com entrada própria.
O edifício propõe um espaço de leitura contínua que funciona em um único andar com acesso ao exterior. Este espaço é ventilado e iluminado pelo tecido matricial de pátios cheios e vazios e clarabóias superiores. Cada núcleo com um programa diferenciado (juventude, criança, adulto, espaço audiovisual, etc.)
O grande destaque está no pátio como protagonista das diferentes áreas de leitura voltadas para o norte com vista para o jardim, o que permite a visão transversal dentro de todos os usuários (também das ruas) como uma idéia de leitura coletiva.
The intention was to respond to the Library's own project as a meeting and open space for the neighbourhood. Our first idea was to create / draw an active meeting point for people to cross the plot, rediscovering a "place" of exchange, knowledge and socialising, including who do not intend to enter the library. The proposed volume attempts to free the centre of the plot, like a large outdoor space, which we will call "garden".
The location of the building in the entire limit of contact with the streets maintains the original characteristic of the urban plot, at the same time resolves the configuration of the plot (school / library set) and also the central garden articulated as a space of rest and point of contact with the outdoor play area of the school.
The space, converted into a green square, acts as an open space for meetings, meetings, communication, tours, pathway for the inhabitants of the neighborhood, also works as an open-air study and allows access to the interior of the library.
The proposal is presented as a parallelepiped modulated with an invisible 6x6m rule, where the location and rhythm of the inner courtyards can be seen, as it was also molded by the shape of the organic center, of the outdoor plaza / garden. This organic green center that is positioned on the north side of the plot, where the building establishes its glazed/glassy form , proportions an open volume facing the garden, creating an open stage to the library's living room.
The modulated method is represented by pieces and simple elements, defined by constructive systems such as patios, nave, skylight, beam and ceilings in the drawer that permit the recognition of strong character elements of ambience and comfort as well as the internal courtyards also configure some elements essential in the control of light and natural ventilation, which provides a clear organization and a more stable light, suitable for reading and work.
For the interior space of the library, the creation of a free access space was proposed, an open-space, without rigid compartments and with various options of space distribution based on its interrelation with the furniture, turning it both into a meeting and reading room. On the ground floor were located the common public areas, multi-purpose areas, with direct connection to the garden and cultural and civic areas. On the level next to the opposite street, the technical areas are located with their facilities and parking that has a separate entrance.
The building proposes a continuous reading space that works in a single floor with access to the exterior. This space is ventilated and illuminated by the matrix tissue of full and empty patios and upper skylights. Each nucleus with a differentiated program (youth, child, adult, audiovisual space, etc.) The great highlight is in the courtyard as the protagonist of the different reading areas addressed to the north overlooking the garden, which allows the transversal view inside all users (also from the streets) as an idea of collective reading.
